Camperships

Access the Campership Information Here

The Blackhawk Area Council provides financial assistance to families in need for Scouts living within the Blackhawk Area Council to attend Blackhawk Area Council Camps.

A campership may cover up to one-half (early fee) of the Scout’s camp fee, as unit help is expected. The Campership Request Application is due at the council service center by April 1. If approved, a confirmation letter will be mailed to the unit leader. Information that appears on this request is kept confidential.  Funds are limited, and unit/family participation is required.  Priority will be given to Scouts submitting for the first year.  Camperships are NOT TRANSFERABLE.  If the Scout does not attend camp, the campership is void.

If you require a physical copy, please contact Roman Salamon at: roman.salamon@scouting.org or 815-397-0210

Camp Lowden is right on the Rock River and close enough to the Chicago area to be a great weekend destination for scouts from all across Northern Illinois. The camp is surrounded by golf courses, Castle Rock State Park, and Lowden-Miller State Forest.

Located north of Mount Carroll, Illinois, the Mount Carroll Scout Cabin sits on 20 acres of land and is available for weekend camping.
