Cold Weather Camping Course – Train the Trainer
This cold weather camping training course will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct cold weather camping training within your units.  Cold weather camping mistakes can be dangerous.  This program covers the preparation and techniques needed to ensure a successful, safe, and fun cold weather camping experience.  Topics covered include physical readiness, proper clothing and equipment, nutritional needs and food prep, snow shelters, travelling over snow, cold weather first aid, and more.  The purpose of this program is to teach the unique skills needed for winter camping in order to help scout units extend their camping season throughout all 12 months of the year.

Course Dates:
November 13, 2021  8:30am – 3:30pm (indoor & outdoor classes)
December 11, 2021  8:30am – 3:30pm  (indoor & outdoor classes)
January 15, 2022  8:30am – 3:30pm  (indoor & outdoor classes)
January 29-30, 2022  (Practical Weekend / Overnight Campout at Camp Lowden, Oregon, IL.)

*** Attendance at all 3 class dates & the practical weekend are required to complete the course.***

Course Fee:  $125  (To be paid in full by November 1, 2021)
(Some additional costs for food and/or equipment may be incurred.)
