Take part in the fun activities and friendship of Scouting with Cub Scouts, Scouts/BSA, and Ventures from around the region.

Location: Galena, IL
General Grant Costume/Impersonation Contest
Scouts will do their best General Grant impersonation, based on answers to the below 5 questions.
Winners will receive a prize for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Saturday – 11:00am at Market House (123 N. Commerce Street)
1. What year was Grant Born?
2. Where was Grant Born?
3. Name the River Boat that brought you to Galena for the First time?
4. What is the address of your pre civil war home?
5. What congressman helped you the most over your career?
History Hunt
The History Hunt is an interactive scavenger hunt with the 9 Generals of Galena. Included in your packet will be a listing of questions and you will need to find the Generals to get the answers.
Once you have completed the questions, you can turn in your completed form at the Trading Post (Turner Hall) to receive a limited edition History Hunt patch.
The History Hunt is available on Saturday from 9:00am – 11:30am.
Pilgrimage Trail Hike
Also included in your packet will be a trail hike and map of downtown Galena.
There is a listing of 16-18 questions.
The answers are located at historically significant places around Galena.
The hike is approximately 5 miles and takes 2-3 hours to complete.
New Scouts will have the opportunity to complete many of the Tenderfoot, 2nd and 1st Class requirements.
Hikers who complete the trail will receive the special Pilgrimage Patch at the Trading Post (Turner Hall).
Civil War Encampment
Tri-state Historical Presentations will put on a Civil War encampment on the weekend of April 26th through April 28th. Scouts and Scouters can see the life during the Civil War and what a camp would look like.
Also at 11:30am on April 27th there will be a mock Civil War battle held along the banks of the Galena River.
Bucket Brigade
Participants compete with others to put out “the fire” by moving water using buckets (with holes!)
This is always a favorite activity of the youth who attend! (You will get wet, be prepared!)
Schedule a time at Registration between 9:00am-11:00am.
Galena and U.S. Grant Museum
The admission fee is included with your wristband.
Many pieces of national US history are on display. Click here for detailed information about exhibits.
Galena History Museum is open from 10:00am to 4:3opm. U.S. Grant Museum is open from 9:00am to 4:45pm.
Parade
Bring your unit flags and join us for the largest Scout only parade in Northern IL.
The parade line up begins at 1:00pm with step off at 1:30pm on Saturday.
You will be given your parade location information when you check in on Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Patch Trading
The Market House will be the location for patch trading.
All patch traders must register with the Pilgrimage to participate. Only trading will be allowed – NO cash sales.
